Utility Arborist Association Annual Award Nominations Open November 6, 2024 - February 5, 2025 The Utility Arborist Association annually recognizes select individuals who have made significant contributions to Utility Arboriculture. It is one small way that the organization can show appreciation to those who have contributed to the profession's advancement. Current UAA (Utility Arborist Association) members are given the opportunity to nominate other UAA members that are active and in good standing, for these various awards. A link to nominate individual(s) will be sent out to all our current/active UAA members, so be sure your membership is in good standing, and we have your current information! These at large recognitions include: - Will Nutter Silver Shield – Given to individuals who are on the front line of safety and may have official or unofficial roles within an organization. They influence and promote a safety culture at every turn.
- Utility Arborist – Presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the field of Utility Arboriculture.
- Education Award – Honors an individual who has added to the knowledge and practices of the Utility Arborist.
- Lifetime Achievement – Recognizes the person who has reached many milestones during his/her career as a Utility Arborist.
- Rising Star – Given to individuals who are relatively early in their career yet have already shown leadership of the organization and the industry.
The UAA would once again like to open nominations up for these awards to the general membership.
If you know an individual who is a current UAA Member in good standing and has made a significant contribution in one of these fields, please use the link provided to you in your UAA member portal to make your nomination. You can nominate candidates for any one of the four categories, or all four, but the candidate must be a current UAA Member. You will need to include your reason for the nomination, as well as your contact information, nominee’s bio and ensure their immediate manager is aware of the nomination as it is a surprise to recipients. Recipients will be chosen by a UAA Peer Committee consisting of Past Presidents, Executive Committee members and a select group of UAA committee members based on nominations. To view a list of the past recipients please visit the UAA Awards & Recognition page on our UAA website.
